AUSTSWIM has released its Annual Report 2024–25, showcasing a year of innovation, partnership, and progress in the shared mission to prevent drowning and ensure every Australian has access to quality swimming and water safety education.
The report highlights AUSTSWIM’s leadership in strengthening Australia’s swim teacher workforce, enhancing education quality, and driving collaboration across the aquatic industry.
Key achievements include:
- ASQA reaccreditation to 2032, reaffirming our standing as Australia’s most trusted swim teacher training provider.
- The launch of the AUSTSWIM Swim School Network, already connecting over 100 swim schools nationally.
- Introduction of the Aqua Exercise Instructor Course, helping address workforce gaps and promote safer participation for older Australians.
- Expansion of our Professional Development Library, including new modules on Safeguarding Children and Young People and Supporting Neurodivergent Learners.
- A strong focus on organisational excellence, with systems and governance improvements to support long-term sustainability.
With more than 28,000 licensed AUSTSWIM teachers and over 413,000 teachers trained since 1979, AUSTSWIM continues to set the benchmark for quality aquatic education.

The report also features stories of impact from across Australia and abroad, including AUSTSWIM teachers bringing water safety education to remote Northern Territory communities and delivering training programs throughout Asia.
