A message from Melinda Crole

AUSTSWIM's Chair and lifelong advocate for children's rights

As AUSTSWIM Chair and a lifelong advocate for children’s safety and wellbeing, I warmly invite you to join me, safeguarding advisor Phil Doorgachurn, and other industry leaders at our upcoming professional development event in Melbourne.

Safeguarding is a responsibility shared by everyone who works with children in aquatic, leisure, and sporting settings. Every child deserves to learn, play, and grow in an environment where they are safe, listened to and protected.

This is also a personal journey for me. My eldest daughter gained her AUSTSWIM qualifications as a teenager and taught swimming for many years. Now, as a young mother, I am seeing her impart her passion for swimming and water safety to her two daughters by choosing AUSTSWIM qualified teachers as part of their important learning journey. AUSTSWIM is the most trusted name when it comes to swimming teacher education, driven by passion, expertise and listening to our community. It’s a powerful reminder that safeguarding is about ensuring safety for this generation and those coming next.

This event offers us the opportunity to ensure contemporary learning from experts, share knowledge, and strengthen our commitment to creating safer environments for children and young people. I encourage you to be part of this vital conversation.
